Skort| Shoes | Similar Purse

Happy Flawless Friday, Darling!

How about the weather this week?! Can you believe it was in the 70’s…in Pittsburgh…in February?! I definitely took advantage of the sunshine and broke out some Spring clothes. This skort is too cute with the fun ruffled sleeve details and checker pattern. Of course, I had to take my red cross body out for a spin and a pop of color!

In celebration of Spring right around the corner, I made a list of my top 5 Spring Essentials pieces:

Number One: A Denim Jacket

Come March, I rarely leave my apartment without a jean jacket! They are perfect for an added layer on a warmer day and can be the perfect touch to a casual look. With that being said, I don’t wear one if I am already wearing jeans, even though I am totally team Brittany and Justin! Wear your jean jackets with dresses, rompers, and jumpsuits. If you are going for a really casual look, wear one with a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball hat.

Number Two: A White T-Shirt

The perfect white t-shirt can be so hard to find. Although it may sound silly, it is definitely a piece worth putting your money into. Wear your white shirt with any denim pant, legging, or skirt. It is the perfect piece to wear under your jean jacket or cardigan. Add a scarf or statement necklace to dress your white t-shirt up.

Number Three: Versatile Sneakers

Okay, I have WAY too many sneakers, but I can’t help it. I love Vans, Adidas Superstars, Air Force 1’s, Converse, and Michael Kors sneakers. I will wear these with literally EVERYTHING. The photos above are a great example of this. The skort I am wearing could have easily been dressed up with a pair of wedges or pumps, but I dressed it down with white sneakers for an out-and-about look.

Number Four: Backpack

Mini backpacks are making a comeback! Just kidding, I am not so sure they are. But Spring time means being outside and what a pain it is to carry all of your stuff! I have the backpack in the link above in black and I get so many compliments on it! I use it as a purse and put my wallet in it and usually my polaroid camera, too.

Number Five: T-Shirt Dress

Looking for something to wear with your denim jacket and adorable sneaker? Hello, t-shirt dress! You can never have enough t-shirt dresses. They are perfect for running errands, happy hours, or date night! They are super duper easy to dress up or down and can be worn all the way into Fall. Try a t-shirt dress with a cargo jacket and your favorite sunglasses for a cute Spring look.

What are your Spring essentials? I would love to hear from you!

Happy Flawless Friday, Darling!

Valentine’s Day came and went so fast! Whether your Valentine was a boyfriend, girlfriend, or Ben & Jerry, I hope that you had a wonderful day.

Last weekend we had such a fun Galentine’s Day party! My apartment was turned into a pink and red wonderland. We took polaroid pictures and tied them to the bottom of heart balloons and it was adorable. This was a last minute idea, but next time I am totally making this polaroid picture balloon chandelier. We also had a vodka and pink lemonade drink with frozen strawberries that we delicious!

For Valentine’s Day, I made these chocolate covered strawberries. They were so yummy and simple to make! It is a lot (and I mean a lot) cheaper to make your own, and they will be sure to impress!

If you got roses from bae, don’t throw them away! All rhyming aside, here is a really cute idea to make a dried rose shadow box! I love this idea because it is the perfect way to keep your flowers from your loved one forever.

What did you do for Valentine’s Day? Do you have any fun plans this weekend?

“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, It’s only the best day of the year.” – Leslie Knope

Happy Galentine’s Day, Darling!  Time to drink girly drinks and just celebrate ladies being ladies. Galentine’s Day is all about having fun and appreciating your gal pals. Galentine’s Day can be brunch, happy hour, a dinner party, or whatever you want it to be!

If you are thinking about throwing a Galentine’s Day party, it’s not to late! Remember:  We have as many hours in the day as Beyonce.  Who Run the World? GIRLS!

Here are 6 tips to throwing a flawless last minute Galentine’s Day Party:

Tip #1: Invite Your Girls!

First, make your guest list! Last year, we designed the CUTEST Galentine invitations and personally mailed them to our friends. This year, we were a little pressed for time and just made a Facebook group. If you want to be a little more creative than a Facebook group, but don’t have time mail invitations, check out Paperless Post. You can design personalized invitations that will go right to your guest’s email! This invitation is perfect for Galentine’s Day!

Tip #2: Decorate

Decorating is my favorite part about hosting a party. One word: Balloons! Balloons are the easiest way to decorate your apartment. Buy a few themed balloons and maybe a few streamers and you are off to an amazing start. String lights are also a great way to get your guests into the spirit.

Tip #3: Pop! Fizz! Clink!

Your party can be BYOB, but make a fun themed drink for your guests, too! I always use my 2 gallon mason jar beverage dispenser and find a fun recipe that goes with the theme of my party.  Here is a Champagne Shirley Temple recipe that will be perfect for your party. Don’t forget to buy red and pink cups!

Tip #4: Fun Foods!

Find a recipe that goes along with your theme.  Valentine’s Day is pretty easy. Just find or make pink and red snacks! red and pink M&Ms are perfect to put out on your table for guests and will look adorable. This is also the perfect time to pull out the chocolate fountain you just had to have but rarely use! (or was that just me?) Use mini plates and napkins that color coordinate!  Here are some from Target that are too cute to pass up.

Tip #5: Tunes!

Every party has to have music! Enjoy this Galentine’s Day playlist for you and your ladies. Girl power! I’ve been listening to this while writing this post and it is really getting me excited to hang with ME AND MY GIRLS!

Tip #6: Stuff to do!

Make a fun backdrop for a photo booth! Here is a DIY V-day backdrop. Or, if you are pressed for time, buy Valentine themed wrapping paper to make a quick and easy background. You could also buy valentine cards for everyone to make! The possibilities are endless. I love to put my polaroid camera out during parties so everyone can take fun pictures!

What are your plans this weekend?! Is there anything you would like to see a blog post about?!

Purrfect Gift Guide

gift guide

17 day until Christmas, you have cat to be kitten me right meow!

This week on the blog I thought I would switch it up and create a girly gift guide for all of you procrastinators out there, like myself. Leopard prints are so popular right now, making for some great gift ideas!  Wearing leopard prints can be a great way to add a little somethin’ to complete your look.

Below are seven items that are sure to make fabulous gifts. I created a list of items ranging from $11 to $200 so that you can find a gift for every budget. You’ll be feline good about buying that special someone (or let’s be honest, yourself) the purrfect present.

Number 1: Leopard Print Ankle Boots orig. $225 on sale for $135

These Michael Kors calf hair ankle boots are booties with cattitude! They will add a perfect pop to your outfit whether you pair them with a black sweater dress or jeans and a blazer. The block heel makes them easy to walk in all day long and the gold lock and zipper adds a dressy touch.

Number 2: Cat Earrings $10.88

These pretty kitty earrings are perfect for any cat lover.  Okay, it’s true… I don’t even like cats and I would totally wear these! I found this pair on Amazon. Such a great find with an even better price point.

Number 3: Phone Pocket Sticker $28

Do you know a special someone who is always losing their cards or money? (hi, mom!) This is an adorable solution! This adhesive phone pocket by Kate Spade is a great way to organize your cards in a cute way. This is perfect for someone on-the-go!

Number 4: Leopard Backpack  orig. $178 on sale for $133.50

Okay, I think this one is my absolute favorite on the list! This Michael Kors backpack found at Macy’s has a subtle leopard print embellishment! Backpacks are the new tote. They’re so trendy, fun, and practical.

Number 5: Meow Necklace $39.99

This adorable handmade necklace is available on Etsy for less than $40 and the cat lover in your life would love it! I would pair this with the crossbody bag to match the gold zipper and lock.

Number 6: Leopard Watch $195

Ugh, this Kate Spade Mini Metro Leopard Strap Watch is too cute for words! If you are looking to add a pop of print to a look, this is a great addition! But hey, don’t be afraid to wear this watch with a hot pink or red outfit! I would definitely pair this with my red leather jacket and a pair of jeans.

Number 7: Leopard Crossbody  orig. $228 on sale for $136.80!

Last, but certainly not least, is this amazing Michael Kors Ginny Calf Hair Leopard Crossbody. This is actually the exact same print as the Michael Kors ankle booties (Number 1) so you could pair them together! I personally love this crossbody because it can fit a full sized wallet on the inside! The possibilities with this bag is endless!

I hope you enjoyed this gift guide!

What is on your shopping list this year?! Are there any specific gift guides you want to see me blog about?! I’d love to hear from you!

Christmas Countdown

Christmas Countdown  Christmas countdownChristmas CountdownChristmas countdown Christmas countdownChristmas Countdown       Christmas countdownJacket (Sold Out) | Dress (Similar) | Shoes

Happy December, everyone! Let the Christmas Countdown begin!

It’s time to Deck the Halls. Who says you can’t look cute while getting ready for the holidays? Anyone who knows me will be shocked, but I think I am actually ready for some snow!

For this Flawless Friday, being only 25 days before Santa comes, I thought it would be fun to share a personal DIY project that I do for Tristan every year: a Christmas countdown full of his favorites things! It is SO simple to make and you only need a few supplies: mailing tubes, cardboard, festive wrapping paper, small saw, duct tape, scotch tape, scrapbook paper, sharpie and scissors.

To begin, mark a line every five inches on each mailing to know where to cut with your handsaw.  Cut every five inches until you have 24 cylinders. Next, using the duct tape, tape six of the cylinders together to create a row. Next, tape a row of five cylinders together, then four, then three, and so on. I made all of the rows first, then stacked them on top of each to create the tree shape. Don’t be shy with the duct tape because you want the tree to stand alone, and the wrapping paper will cover all of  it. Add an additional  row of three cylinders below the row of six to create the tree trunk.

Next, cover the cylinders with festive wrapping paper to hide the tape. I have been reusing the same one for a few years, so my wrapping paper was already taped on. Once the tree is standing alone, get some fun scrapbook paper and cut out circles that are the size of the cylinder’s circumference. Number these circles with a sharpie from 1 to 24.

Now for the fun part: filling your count down calendar! Tristan loves beer, so I decided to fill this calendar with a mix of different beers, silly notes, candy, and mini liquor bottles. Next, cover each cylinder with the numbered cutout circles so that the fun treats are covered. Place the numbers randomly so that it does not become top heavy as beer cans or other items are removed.  For the back of the calendar, I simply cut a piece of cardboard into a triangle and duct taped it so that nothing can fall out.

Now your holi”bae” can count down to Christmas with you in mind and have something fun to look forward to every day!

What are your favorite holiday DIY projects? I would love to hear from you!

Cyber FUNday

Happy Cyber Monday, Darling! The only time that a Monday can actually be fun! Only 360 more days until Thanksgiving 2018, but hey, who is counting?

I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend!  Mine was filled with family, friends, and SO much food.  Call me crazy, but I look forward to my family’s Thanksgiving brunch more than the actual turkey dinner.  If you had my dad’s crepes you would understand, too. They are delicious! My sister Emma and I ran the Pittsburgh Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning, so you better believe we ate all of the bacon and eggs in sight when we got to my parents’ house.

Ah Finally, I found the perfect oversized cozy sweater. I just bought this sweater from H&M for under $50 the day before Thanksgiving and could not wait to wear it. H&M has 30% off everything today for Cyber Monday. HURRY before it’s gone! I am so in love. And paired with my favorite pair of over-the-knee boots and jeans makes for such a cute and easy look! These Forever 21 boots also under $50 are great because they have a tie in the back so you don’t have to keep pulling them up! They also came in black, so I had to buy both! It looks like they are no longer available, but here is a similar pair! Their Cyber Monday deal is 21% off EVERYTHING!

So, who has started their Christmas shopping already? If you have, I am impressed.  Teach me your ways! What were your best Black Friday deals and what are you shopping for this Cyber Monday?!

I would love to hear from you <3

I am planning a fun surprise for December, so keep an eye out 😉

This week on the blog, we have a special guest. Meet McKinley, my one year old Great Dane! After doing a LOT of research on what dog would be best for my lifestyle, I decided on a Great Dane. He is so gentle, sleeps a ton, and has a hilarious personality.  He weighs about 150 lbs. and is three feet tall. It is hard to believe, but he  is actually still growing! I can’t take McKinley anywhere without getting stopped on the street by people.  He is just as lazy as he is friendly. If this dog lays down on our walk before we make it home, we aren’t going anywhere.

Call me a crazy dog owner, but I bought the two of us this adorable matching set from Friendship Collar. Whoever said that diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog. But that doesn’t mean you boys are off the hook! Some (most) people said I was crazy for getting a dog just a year after graduating, especially one as big as McKinley, but I LOVE having him around. He is the best Netflix buddy and makes me feel so much safer living in the city. I read quite a few blogs about Great Danes before getting my own.  The Lunchbox Diaries has great posts about her dog!

Okay enough about the pup. let’s talk about this super easy look for a warm fall day. It has been 50 degrees for most of fall in Pittsburgh, so we need to get creative! This look took four simple pieces: High waisted jeans, a plain top, sneakers, and a cute leather jacket. Piece of cake! Leather jackets are always in style, but they are so much more fun in color! I have also paired this faux jacket with blue jeans and leopard flats (SO cute!) It was a great find at Forever 21 for $20, such a deal. Ugh, if only McKinley got the memo and had a red collar on!

Who else is culprit of buying the same style of something in several colors?! As you can tell, I wear these adidas sneakers ALL of the time with anything and everything. They come in so many different colors, so there is a pair for everyone. Cute and comfortable can be hard to come by so when I find the perfect shoes, I need them in more than one color!

What do you and your dog do for fun?! I would love to hear from you <3

BeautiFALL

Fall outfit

Fall outfit\  Fall outfit

Helloooooo Fall!  Finally, you are here.  I mean, I know you have been here almost a month, but it has been 70 degrees in Pittsburgh for most of October… time to step your game up! We are dying to wear our sweaters, boots, and scarves over here. So, since it has been so warm, I am going to show how to style a Fall outfit for one of those warmer days !

First and foremost, to my loyal followers (jk, mostly just my mom): I’ve missed you too. I am so sorry for not posting a blog post in over a month! But I am back and blogging, don’t you worry. Now let’s talk fashion and makeup!

This look is one of my favorites when it comes to a Fall outfit to wear when it is warm out.  I dressed up my simple jeans and white t-shirt by adding a blazer, sandals, and my favorite brown tote. This black bell sleeve blazer is adorable! I recently purchased it at Zara for under $50. Hurry and Trick or Treat yo’ self before it sells out! The ruffled bell sleeves make it the perfect fall piece with a little pizzaz. There is also a similar style available in plaid. Like my previous post, I am wearing my Michael Kors Slim Runway watch, my favorite accessory!  My Ralph Lauren tote is quite a few years old, but I found a similar styler here.

Who doesn’t love a red lip? It is a great way to give your look that pop of color. I used NYX Matte Lipstick in the shade Perfect Red. This is a great lipstick and only $6! Tip: when you are looking for a red lipstick, stick to ones with blue undertones so that your teeth stay looking white.

Speaking of Fall… who is carving pumpkins and making caramel apples this season?  My roommate and I are planning a fall party, like the basic witches that we are. Delish.com has an amazing Boozy Carmel Apples DIY that we can’t wait to try out for ourselves!

What are your favorite Fall looks? Any fun Fall plans this weekend? I would love to hear from you!

As always, thanks for following along! Don’t forget to subscribe for first peaks and fun looks 🙂

So Long, Summer

Spoiler alert: I am still going to wear white after Labor Day. I hate to see Summer go so soon, but at least we have scarves, boots and pumpkin spice lattes to look forward to!

You are never going to guess where I got this outfit… Amazon!  Are you as shocked as I am?! This blue and white striped skirt is a great find for less than $25. Blue and white stripes are all over the place lately.  If you love the look as much as I do, luckily for us the trend does not seem to be slowing down! This white tube top is less than $10 and think it goes absolutely perfect with the skirt. The best part about this top is that the bow can be tied in the front or the back!

I am not normally one to purchase clothes from Amazon, but the pictures of this skirt online are so cute that it was hard to resist. And I have to admit, it is even cuter in person! It can be nerve-racking to order clothes from a website, but I recommend this outfit! I am wearing this for a day out and about in Pittsburgh, but it would also be great for a dressier occasion like a bridal shower!

I am wearing the Berkley Platform Sandal from Michael Kors in the Luggage color. They are great because not only are they comfortable but they can easily be styled so many different ways. A gold watch is the perfect accessory for any outfit.  The watch that I am wearing is the Michael Kors Slim Runway Watch.  This watch is one of my favorites because of how thin it is.  It also looks great with other gold bracelets!

Thanks for following along! Don’t forget to subscribe for first peaks and fun looks 🙂
