Purrfect Gift Guide

gift guide

17 day until Christmas, you have cat to be kitten me right meow!

This week on the blog I thought I would switch it up and create a girly gift guide for all of you procrastinators out there, like myself. Leopard prints are so popular right now, making for some great gift ideas!  Wearing leopard prints can be a great way to add a little somethin’ to complete your look.

Below are seven items that are sure to make fabulous gifts. I created a list of items ranging from $11 to $200 so that you can find a gift for every budget. You’ll be feline good about buying that special someone (or let’s be honest, yourself) the purrfect present.

Number 1: Leopard Print Ankle Boots orig. $225 on sale for $135

These Michael Kors calf hair ankle boots are booties with cattitude! They will add a perfect pop to your outfit whether you pair them with a black sweater dress or jeans and a blazer. The block heel makes them easy to walk in all day long and the gold lock and zipper adds a dressy touch.

Number 2: Cat Earrings $10.88

These pretty kitty earrings are perfect for any cat lover.  Okay, it’s true… I don’t even like cats and I would totally wear these! I found this pair on Amazon. Such a great find with an even better price point.

Number 3: Phone Pocket Sticker $28

Do you know a special someone who is always losing their cards or money? (hi, mom!) This is an adorable solution! This adhesive phone pocket by Kate Spade is a great way to organize your cards in a cute way. This is perfect for someone on-the-go!

Number 4: Leopard Backpack  orig. $178 on sale for $133.50

Okay, I think this one is my absolute favorite on the list! This Michael Kors backpack found at Macy’s has a subtle leopard print embellishment! Backpacks are the new tote. They’re so trendy, fun, and practical.

Number 5: Meow Necklace $39.99

This adorable handmade necklace is available on Etsy for less than $40 and the cat lover in your life would love it! I would pair this with the crossbody bag to match the gold zipper and lock.

Number 6: Leopard Watch $195

Ugh, this Kate Spade Mini Metro Leopard Strap Watch is too cute for words! If you are looking to add a pop of print to a look, this is a great addition! But hey, don’t be afraid to wear this watch with a hot pink or red outfit! I would definitely pair this with my red leather jacket and a pair of jeans.

Number 7: Leopard Crossbody  orig. $228 on sale for $136.80!

Last, but certainly not least, is this amazing Michael Kors Ginny Calf Hair Leopard Crossbody. This is actually the exact same print as the Michael Kors ankle booties (Number 1) so you could pair them together! I personally love this crossbody because it can fit a full sized wallet on the inside! The possibilities with this bag is endless!

I hope you enjoyed this gift guide!

What is on your shopping list this year?! Are there any specific gift guides you want to see me blog about?! I’d love to hear from you!

Christmas Countdown

Christmas Countdown  Christmas countdownChristmas CountdownChristmas countdown Christmas countdownChristmas Countdown       Christmas countdownJacket (Sold Out) | Dress (Similar) | Shoes

Happy December, everyone! Let the Christmas Countdown begin!

It’s time to Deck the Halls. Who says you can’t look cute while getting ready for the holidays? Anyone who knows me will be shocked, but I think I am actually ready for some snow!

For this Flawless Friday, being only 25 days before Santa comes, I thought it would be fun to share a personal DIY project that I do for Tristan every year: a Christmas countdown full of his favorites things! It is SO simple to make and you only need a few supplies: mailing tubes, cardboard, festive wrapping paper, small saw, duct tape, scotch tape, scrapbook paper, sharpie and scissors.

To begin, mark a line every five inches on each mailing to know where to cut with your handsaw.  Cut every five inches until you have 24 cylinders. Next, using the duct tape, tape six of the cylinders together to create a row. Next, tape a row of five cylinders together, then four, then three, and so on. I made all of the rows first, then stacked them on top of each to create the tree shape. Don’t be shy with the duct tape because you want the tree to stand alone, and the wrapping paper will cover all of  it. Add an additional  row of three cylinders below the row of six to create the tree trunk.

Next, cover the cylinders with festive wrapping paper to hide the tape. I have been reusing the same one for a few years, so my wrapping paper was already taped on. Once the tree is standing alone, get some fun scrapbook paper and cut out circles that are the size of the cylinder’s circumference. Number these circles with a sharpie from 1 to 24.

Now for the fun part: filling your count down calendar! Tristan loves beer, so I decided to fill this calendar with a mix of different beers, silly notes, candy, and mini liquor bottles. Next, cover each cylinder with the numbered cutout circles so that the fun treats are covered. Place the numbers randomly so that it does not become top heavy as beer cans or other items are removed.  For the back of the calendar, I simply cut a piece of cardboard into a triangle and duct taped it so that nothing can fall out.

Now your holi”bae” can count down to Christmas with you in mind and have something fun to look forward to every day!

What are your favorite holiday DIY projects? I would love to hear from you!
